Behind the Seams fashion show – the runway
Another fashion show by Fashion Group International at Colorado State University. The models were walking around in the dark and I was shooting at super high speed ISO. Not 6400, but even about that. Still I managed to get some good stuff. Get the Flash Player to see this content. . Falbo Brothers Pizzeria
Score! My art is on another wall. And in another pizza place. I’m setting a trend here. I’m glad that Falbo Brothers Pizzeria is in Fort Collins, not Loveland as I can still honestly say that Lil’ Mikes is the best pizza in Loveland because it is, not because my art is on the wall. And I can say that Falbo’s has the best pizza in Fort Collins. Not because they have my art on … Continue reading
Behind the Seams fashion show: Tuana Hair Design
Another fashion show by Fashion Group International at Colorado State University. Tuana Hair Design did the hair styling for them again and I was there to get the photos. Mostly anyhow. I got there late as I was off in Windsor doing photography and then had a model interview – but I did get there. Get the Flash Player to see this content. . Almost as good as free sex.
I did say “almost”. I use Lightroom for my photo editing now that I’ve joined the world of digital photography. I am not a fan of Photoshop mostly because of the cost and complexity. When I need to do Photoshop like modifications to my images I use GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) which is open source and free. I found GIMP and started using it when I moved to Linux as my primary operating system … Continue reading

“Three Worlds” fashion shoot. Done and done.
I figure any time I do a fashion shoot and no one dies that qualifies as successful. Therefore I’m gonna say this was a success. The day stated out on the right foot when I arrived and found out we were locked out of the buildings. Lucky for me I was 30 minutes early thanks to my paranoia that something exactly like this was going to happen. In fact not being able to get into … Continue reading

Foggy Morning at Horsetooth
I went up to Horsetooth Reservoir one early morning to get some star photos. Well it was foggy as hell and I wasn’t getting any photos of much of anything. I could only see about 5 meters in front of me. I was just about to pack it up and head home when the sun came thru. Over the next 3 hours I took over 400 photographs. Here are the best of them. This is … Continue reading

Denver Black & White series
I ventured down to Denver one day and spent a number of hours in a park near the downtown area. I put my camera in black and white mode and set out to capture some of the things I would do with black and white film. Here are the results. Personally I think this was one of my better days in the last year or so. And damn was it hot that day. Get the … Continue reading

Critiquing the Photograph
This is a guide to critiquing photographs which I got from one of my college teachers. It was written for black and white prints created from film in the darkroom however I think much of this can be applied to any type of photography be it colour or B&W, film or digital. Critiquing the Photograph Light: Is the use of light effective? Does it complement, describe, contrasted the subject or mood? Does the photographer control … Continue reading
“Three Worlds” the Lionsgate Photo Shoot
I’ve got some super-hot models and awesome behind-the-scenes talent. This is gonna be totally kick ass. Shoot Title: “Three Worlds” Concepts: update 4 Dec – This is going to be focused on having multiple models in each image. I will get individual photos of everyone but expect to not be doing much solo work here. We will also spend more time getting the posing “exactly” right and less time actually shooting than I normally do. … Continue reading
