Sometimes people say nice things about me and I don’t even have to get them drunk or pay them money. Here are some things real live people have said about me.

Photography Students and Presentations:

“I spent the summer taking individual photo classes with Adrian. Each week we would meet and work on photographic issues that I was struggling with. Adrian was able to coach and guide me and really take my photography to the level I thought I should be. From exposure to metering to composition Adrian was able to present topics that I was able to grasp and put into practical application.

Adrian showed me how, and taught me WHY we photograph things the way we do-who would have known how hard it was to take a photo of a white object! One of the classes had a real life model and Adrian walked me through composition, and posing techniques. How cool was that! I would highly recommend taking photo lessons from Adrian.

“I’m a very busy full time working mother of three active boys and was given a DSLR camera as a gift to help capture our busy life and the many activities that we enjoy. I’ve never heard of aperture, ISO, shutter speed, metering, etc. and was quite overwhelmed. Adrian really helped me understand the basics of photography and gave me a great start to something that will enhance many lives. It’s very apparent that Adrian’s skills and knowledge go far beyond my needs as a beginner photographer. I really appreciate Adrian’s teaching abilities to tailor to his client’s needs and skill level. He was able to give me as much scientific information as I wanted in a way that I could understand and apply. One thing that I really appreciate about Adrian is that he has inspired me to open a whole new world of photography for myself and my family. To me, this is priceless, as it will help capture so many meaningful aspects of life.”

“Adrian’s intro course to Lightroom was a great way for me to see the appeal of this software. Because it’s not intuitive at first, having to dive in on my own kept me from incorporating it into my work flow. After Adrian showed me around and answered any questions, I immediately became aware of its potential for organizing and batch processing that are important when taking on large photography endeavors/events (i.e., weddings).

The first wedding I edited using Lightroom made it apparent I would never, ever go back to my former processes. If you are considering whether or not taking his course, I would say it’s a no-brainer – take the course. Many thanks to Adrian for showing me the greatness that is Lightroom.”

I’ve heard Adrian present twice at meetup groups about photography and taking pictures. Wow! He was terrific! I learned great information both times, and would go listen to him, again. Adrian was an excellent ability to “cut to the chase” and present the most important and helpful information in a clear and understandable fashion.

Coupled with a comfortable sense of humor and plenty of examples of (someone else’s!) poor pictures, and (his!) great pictures, Adrian easily communicates that he knows plenty about his craft. He can answer the “easy” questions as easily as the “difficult” questions … and his pictures show it.”

Note from Adrian: For the record my presentation only has one bad photo by someone other than me. All the rest are my bad photos. I’m not above showing my own mistakes. :)

“I am around good photographers in my family so I am intimated by people who can easily snap pictures and produce quality results. During a Web Magic Marketing meeting, Adrian taught us that there is more to taking pictures than just snapping away and having a good camera. There is of course lighting (natural and artificial), head and body cropping issues, having the image slightly off from the middle (there is a math equation there, but I just say “a bit off from center”) and so much more to think about.

I will take shots as I see them for me (armed with my new information), but I believe that I will put my faith in Adrian when it comes time to produce photography for my business clients. He clearly knows his craft. I enjoy seeing his work for the Tuana Hair Design company in Fort Collins – excellent work! – thanks for your informative talk on photography!”

“I attended Adrian’s Adobe Lightroom classes in the summer of 2011. I’ve taken two other photography software classes in the past. They were both crowded, held in a regular classroom atmosphere and conducted on a specific time schedule. If you didn’t understand what was taking place during the course of the session the teacher had very little time to explain it to you before moving on to the next subject. This is not an effective way for me to learn.

In Adrian’s class if you don’t understand something he takes the time and effort to help you better understand it before moving on to the next subject. Plus the classes are held in a welcoming and relaxing environment.

I really looked forward to attending each class because I knew it was going to be a fun night of learning. In Adrian’s classes you move at the student’s pace – not the teacher’s.

I learned many things about Lightroom and these classes helped me tremendously with my photography. I plan to attend other classes in the future with Adrian.”

“I received a lesson with Adrian as a Christmas present from my sister-in-law. I had recently purchased a Canon T3, my first digital SLR, and wasn’t quite sure how to best use all of the settings.

Adrian looked at sampling of my work, and was able to clearly answer all of my questions about best settings for specific situations, the usefulness (or not) of settings ony camera, the use of RAW versus JPG, and many many more topics. We talked for about two hours, I took copious notes, and his recommendations have been right on in helping me solve some problem areas.

Highly recommended.”

Models:

“I met Adrian through a friend in theater and had heard many things about his photography. With our common theater backgrounds, I knew it was apt to click. My favorite part of working with Adrian is his creative nature and willingness to run with any idea you can fathom. Every photoshoot is a new adventure in a new story! It is truly fun working with Adrian. He has many ideas and is great at putting all the pieces together to create a larger vision. He understands want he wants as a photographer and is very easy to work with. Simple direction, situational setups, and character ideas allow for easy interpretation on the model’s side of the camera. Though he has a vision, Adrian is not over-directive and allows the model to take the reigns.

As the busy person I am, I truly appreciate Adrian’s respect of my time. He is always on-time and makes sure I get out of there when I need to be off to the next thing in my life!

Several shoots later and I can say that the photos are never a disappointment! Adrian takes quality photos with variety and intrigue. Whether whimsical, traditional, or character based, his photos exhibit class and merit (with a twist)!”

“Even though the first time I had met Adrian I had been a bit intimidated since it was to be the first time I was going to be a part of a awesome big vision of his. I quickly got over that and have enjoyed working with him several times since on various projects as a model.

He has great insight and knows how to direct well as well as work with any ideas you might have. I enjoy working with Adrian whenever I can and look forward I doing more with him in the future.”

–Cassidy Hara

“I first met Adrian on a modeling shoot that involved running around Fort Collins in the middle of January dressed like a chick from the 80’s. It was very cold outside, but Adrian followed me and the rest of the Brat Pack around, taking pictures, and stopping for laughs. He has a great sense of humor, and I enjoyed chatting with him after the shoot. Since then I have had the opportunity to do a few more shoots with Adrian, and they were all as much fun as the first.

Adrian is very creative, and takes amazing pictures. He makes modeling real easy, because he gives you a story line, and you just go with it. Adrian is a blast to work with and I hope I get to work with him again in the future!

Despite being signed with an international agency at the time of my first shoot with Adrian, I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed working with him more than any other photographer. He’s creative, fun, and produces quality work. I’ve even used photos of his in my professional portfolio unabashedly because I know that the caliber of his product easily equals that put out by many photographers on the national scene.

Adrian is one of the few photographers I specifically clear my schedule for. He’s simply fantastic to work with.

–Victoria Autumn

“It is terribly unique to find a photographer who is unquestionably intrigued by any possible notion one can contrive as an idea for a photo shoot; Adrian is one such photographer. Despite the extremity or peculiarity of the ideas I can contrive, Adrian somehow wraps his mind around the concept and embraces it in his own distinctive mode. I have not once been disappointed with the results of a photo shoot that Adrian and I worked on together.

He is punctual and prompt when shooting and consistently returns photos in a timely manner. Adrian has the ability to step back and let the model work his/her own magic in front of the camera; when applicable, he can also provide gentle prompting for models who may need more assistance. I would certainly recommend Adrian as a photographer for anyone’s imagery needs.”

“Thank you for submitting work to Rendition. I do believe that as a brand new gallery trying to win the patronage of a conservative town, the samples of work you sent are a little over the top for us right now. We are already getting flack about the theme and our poster for the show, so we better keep it moderate this time around. Maybe if we do the same theme next year people will be a little more open to it. Thank you again.
