Are you looking to take your photography to a new level? I just might be able to help you. I’ve been taking photographs since “back in the day” when I was only “knee-high to a grasshopper” and I had to “walk 25 miles uphill in the snow to get to the store to buy film”. What will all that history I enjoy the opportunity to pass along things I’ve learned and mistakes I’ve made.
And I’ve learned a few things and made about three times as many mistakes.

Cost and Logistics:
If you are liking what you see so far and think I might be able to teach you a thing or three then your next question is “How much does this cost?” The answer is $80 per session. A session is 1.5 to 2 hours. Theory and practical application. As in really taking pictures.
Regarding the actual photography lessons, topics are designed for each person individually. I don’t have any plan or outline for this. At the end of each session we will decide what you want to work on next time and that’s what we will talk about and apply.
More of my notes. It’s almost like I know what I’m doing.
I am very serious about what I do. I am not serious about how I do it.
I enjoy teaching photography and do so with a big dose of humour. I like to make this fun and enjoy the process of helping people make the leap to the next level.
You can view recommendations and words of praise from past students and clients right here before making your choice to learn from me.
There it is. Pretty simple really. Once you decide it’s time to do this and unleash the photographer you really are just contact me and let’s make it happen.
Where you ask (you know you are asking) do these lessons take place? Usually one of two locations. Either at Cohere Coworking at 418 South Howes Street Fort Collins, CO 80521 or at Happy Lucky’s Teahouse at 236 Walnut Street, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
And yet more notes. I confess I love writing on the white board. I got some markers in assorted colours to make it even more fun.
As part of the learning process I suggest keeping a photography journal. What you do is save photos you really like, pull them from magazines and such as that, and write notes about why you like them, analyse them and steal good ideas from them.
Or you can do it digitally. Sure, Pintrest or something. But old people like me enjoy paper and writing.
Here is an example of what a photography journal looks like. This is a scan of the very first one I ever did when I took my first college photography class. And yes I did have to walk uphill in the snow to get to class.
PDF file of Skippy’s very first photography journal. Right click on the link to save, or if you click on the link it should open in a new tab/window depending on your browser.
