Lightroom Extensions:

LR/Enfuse – Blend Multiple Exposures together in Adobe Lightroom – will work for free but only produces a small image. Donate money to unlock and create full size images.

Jeffrey Friedl’s Blog – Lightroom Goodies – There are some fantastic things here, both plug-ins and extensions and presets plus good information about Lightroom.  He has also written an extension which lets you export from LR straight to Twitter. It’s pretty damn cool.  I’m a fan.

The Turning Gate – Flash Web Galleries you can add to the Web Module.

Lightroom General Tips and Help and Tutorials:

I’ve read more than a few Lightroom books.  One that I think is very good and worth your time is The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 book for Digital Photographers by Scott Kelby.  In fact pretty much any book by Scott Kelby is worth your time.  This guy is very good.

Another good LR book is the massive 600 page The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 Book by Martin Evening.  Be warned – this is not an introductory level book.  I would not suggest reading this one if you are totally new to Lightroom.

Lightroom Killer Tips Blog – pretty much what the title says it is.  You can pick up some good ideas here. http://lightroomkillertips.com/

100 reasons Lightroom is better than Bridge.  What’s really good about this isn’t so much that it’s going to persuade you to use LR over bridge, what’s good is that it will show you 100 useful things you can do with LR, such as the lights out feature I showed y’all in the first session. These videos are short and very much worth your time.  http://www.photoshopuser.com/lightroom#

[SLR]Lounge has a slew of video LR tutorials that are fantastic.  Still confused about something from class?  Want a different perspective than mine?  Go here and watch their videos.  They are organized and focused.  I’ve watched almost all of these and they are great.  http://www.slrlounge.com/

Other programs that replace, enhance or work with Adobe Lightroom:

RAWTherapee – an open source Lightroom like program.

LightZone – a Lightroom like program.  $99 to buy.  You can download a free 30 day trial.

GIMP – an open source version of Photoshop and UFRaw – which allows GIMP to manipulate RAW images.

Photivo – an open source alternative to Lightroom which will integrate with GIMP.
