Five Sleazy Ways To Get People To Read Your Blog Post.
I love it when people read my blog. Or at least look the the pictures. Or at least hit the URL with their browser. I don’t know if any one actually reads this word vomit or not. But I enjoy living in a fantasy world so let’s pretend they do read it. In fact I’m gonna pretend that you are not only reading this, but that you will actually read the whole thing. In order … Continue reading
That’s called consulting and it costs money.
That’s Called Consulting and It Costs Money. Some time ago I was at Cohere when Angel (our curator, madam and founder) came in with a story to tell. In a pizza shop today a customer came in and asked the owner if he could “pick his brain about how to own a pizza shop.” The owner, not looking up from rolling out pizza dough says, “that’s called consulting and it costs money.” We then discussed … Continue reading
Networking Hurts My Soul
I went to a networking event today and my soul hurts. This is all the more impressive when you consider that I don’t have a soul. You would think that by now I would have learned. Apparently I’m stupider that I think I am. Here is a brief summary of some of today’s occurrences and observations which illustrate why traditional networking is so useless to me. This event was held at a local rent-a-office space … Continue reading
Lightroom 3.3 – The Suckage Gets Worse
Lightroom 3.3 – The Suckage Gets Worse Edit: Lightroom 3.4.1 is out and I have a review (aka bug report) on that version posted here. I’ve been driving Adobe Lightroom 3.3 for a while now. You may have read my past reviews of LR 3.0 and 3.2. Or maybe you haven’t . . . and should that be the case you are slacking. I’m gonna heavily reference my Lightroom 3.2 review here so you might … Continue reading
Art or Shit? Your Opinion Counts.
Why do we the art viewing public see so much shit being passed off as art? It’s because we the art viewing public allow others whom I shall refer to as the art elite to determine what is and is not art for us. Each person has their own sense of what is aesthetically pleasing to them. Certainly an individuals sense of aesthetics is influenced by environment and society in countless ways, still it remains … Continue reading
I Disagree
Angel Kwiatkowski – the founder and Madam of Cohere Coworking Community is down in Austin, Texas (yes I’m jealous) at SXSW (yes I’m jealous) and spoke Thursday night on a panel addressing the future of coworking. And she disagrees. And I agree with her. I mean I also disagree with what she disagrees with. I don’t mean I disagree with her disagreement. Make sense? No? Good. Edit: It occurred to me that I need to … Continue reading
Almost as good as free sex.
I did say “almost”. I use Lightroom for my photo editing now that I’ve joined the world of digital photography. I am not a fan of Photoshop mostly because of the cost and complexity. When I need to do Photoshop like modifications to my images I use GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) which is open source and free. I found GIMP and started using it when I moved to Linux as my primary operating system … Continue reading
