Bringing together horror, murder, the undead and Loveland history for a one-of-a-kind photo shoot

FORT COLLINS, COLORADO: On Saturday June 12th On The Fly Photography is taking the theatre outdoors – to the historic Loveland Feed and Grain building for the “My Beloved” photo shoot. The event will feature staged murder, actors and ravenous zombies taking over the building in an effort to capture creative spirit on film, and showcase this valuable piece of local history with an uncertain future.

Fashion models, special effects make-up artists and soon- to- be undead citizens will collaborate for this a photo shoot to visually explore the idea of death at the hands of a “beloved”. Part horror, part social commentary, the goal is capture visually unique, elaborate dynamic photos while building support to preserve the Feed and Grain, a historical landmark.

The Feed and Grain is ideally suited for a variety of photographic uses. On The Fly Photography will take advantage of the unique architecture, sparse industrial lighting and dark interiors to create an atmosphere of fear and horror to capture a one-of-a-kind photo experience. “My Beloved” is bringing together participants and horror fans from Fort Collins, Loveland, Denver, Laramie and Cheyenne to join the fun.

Loveland Feed and Grain: A Historic Building in Need of Rescue

The Loveland Feed and Grain was originally built in 1891 and is currently dormant. Novo Restoration launched a campaign to save the building from demolition in 2006, and organizers of Save the Loveland Feed & Grain have plans to turn it into a centre of cultural activity for the town to preserve the landmark and create a space for established and budding artists. Ideally the building would provide space for artists to work on projects, show their art and collaborate with other artists.

Transforming a Landmark into a Cultural Center

Artspace Projects has completed a preliminary feasibility report in which they favourably evaluated the Feed and Grain as a possible site to host a variety of art- related functions such as live/work units for artists, office space for cultural and art organizations, studios, galleries and space for visiting artists.

On Monday, July 19th, Novo Restoration will host an event to update the public on the results of market surveys conducted by Artspace. regarding this project. The location for this event is still to be determined. Additional information available on the Save the Loveland Feed & Grain website or by contacting Marty Janseen, President of Novo
