Love saturates our lives. Love colours our world. Those rose tinted glasses of yours? They render the glamour sharp details of the people you love. From love arises trust. From trust arises vulnerability. In vulnerability one finds weakness. To be vulnerable is to cry, to be harmed, to be hurt, to be shattered.

Life is fragile. It takes so little to shatter the shell and spill the ghost. The body bleeds and the ghost is lost. The body of your love – once held so warm and so close – becomes a pile of room temperature stench.

Love will be the death of you. And it’s colour is blood red.

Anyone can die. Can you die by the hand of the one you love? When your beloved slits your throat will you kiss her before you sleep?

Calling for:

8 to 10 people of any gender and age to play zombies for HvZ.

4 to 6 people of any gender and age to play human survivors (but not for long) for HvZ who become zombies.

1 or 2 child models who are okay with makeup.

4 or more female models who may also be part of the HvZ group.

2 or more male models who may also be part of the HvZ group.

Costume Notes:

Zombies especially – old clothing which can be, or is, ripped, soiled, etc. But it would be great if everyone has some stuff that you don’t mind tearing up & getting dirty.

The Loveland Feed and Grain building and the studios of G. Mark Art which are located adjacently.

Shot Listing:

Note: For some of these ideas I have specific ideas on gender, on others I’m open to using either gender in the roles. Thus for some shots I will specify “male” and “female” while for others I will use designations – A and B.

Humans vs. Zombies. A group of survivors (4 to 6) people is trapped in a building by zombies (8 to 10). As the zombies force the humans further into the building they retreat up to the 2^nd, 3^rd and finally 4^th floor. As the human retreat the humans fall prey and are converted.

I just wanted to make you smile. A has slit the throat of B. The blood is running and the knife is huge.

Mommy. Wake up. The child, or children, standing over their dead mother. Her blood is on their hands (literally and figuratively).

Trophy Wife. A hunter and his rifle and the woman he just shot. In the background are a few other trophies of his. Thanks to Julie for the title.

My Gift of Life. My Gift of Death. A mother kills her child or children. What better gift to those you have birthed than to free them forever from pain?

The Young Lovers. Young love is beautiful and innocent. As time goes by beauty fades and innocence is corrupted. How can you save the one you love from the ravages of time? Death of course, for death is the eternal extinction of change.

Angels of Eternal Stasis. When death takes hold you feel the embrace of decay.

Alone Inside Yourself. You hear the voices, why can’t anyone else hear them? Are they all insane?

I’m certain other concepts will come up between now and then – not to mention while we are on location. I’m also interested in playing with any humorous concepts that come up. The main focus however is the serious element of dying at the hands of those you trust, or trusted. This is not a “fashion shoot” in a literal sense but we can integrate fashion shoot concepts and approaches where they are appropriate. I’m going primarily for darkness, true horror and emotional impact.

Seriously – Let me know as soon as you can if you are attending or not. I need to know. Also let me know which concepts you are interested in participating in. There will be much going on and I don’t want to keep people standing around any more than necessary. I’m going to do my best to schedule things out so as to maximize our productivity & creativity.

Model Release:

Yup, you know it. Everyone in front of a camera will sign a model release. No release, no photographing.

Feel free to bring anything you think might be fun, useful or interesting.
