Networking Hurts My Soul — 4 Comments

  1. Wow, your post hits it right on the nose. My feelings exactly about networking.
I always feel like the people I meet aren’t real people and just have an ulterior motive.

  2. Barfasaurous is right. There is always the undercurrent of falseness. But it’s good for me to experience this now and then as it reminds me of why I don’t go to networking events. Otherwise I’ll forget and make the mistake of attending. Like I did with this one.

  3. That is hilarious–they actually expect you to pick a card out of a bowl and go to coffee with that person? Even if they don’t do anything similar to your business? If you want to talk to strangers, it’s a lot more fun in a bar.

    • That is indeed what they expect. Pretty silly. Angel went to this same group months before I did and she tried to warm me. But of course I didn’t listen ’cause I’m a boy and boys never listen.
