Before going over to the Fort Collins Art Lab to watch Post Paradise perform I ran into my friend Kevin who remarked that he found their name interesting. Post Paradise. What is post paradise like?
It’s an interesting question. I think it would be somehow disappointing. After all if it comes after paradise you’d almost have to be “coming down” so to speak. Who would want to leave paradise? Or give it up as the case may be.
As Pete Townshend wrote – ‘Cause if I’d had her for just an hour I’d have wanted her forever.
Or . . .
Maybe post paradise is a happy place. Paradise may be gone but the experience is still with you. Nothing last forever – thus maybe post paradise is in fact the best place we can ever hope to be for any extended period of time. Should you be grateful for that single hour and move on with your life at peace with knowing that it’s lost to you forever?
Regardless of your take on post paradise I can say that Post Paradise is worth your time. If you have a chance to see ’em live I suggest you do. They are working on a new album and currently have an EP you can purchase as a real live CD or as mp3 files from iTunes or Amazon.
